Qantas has announced that it will rollout the changeover of its new range of uniforms for inflight staff at midnight on Wednesday, Sydney time.

The new uniform as worn by ambassador Miranda Kerr

It said that passengers on Tuesday’s QF12 flight from Los Angeles to Sydney will be the first to see the uniforms in action, as staff execute a quick change mid-flight as the hour strikes.

The uniform was unveiled in April.

“Our new uniform is so much more than a new look, it marks a new chapter in our brand and will unite our people on the ground and our flying crew as “one team”” Qantas said.

Olivia Wirth, Qantas group executive for brand, marketing and corporate affairs, said the campaign was focusing on ”the simple reasons people choose to travel with us every day as an airline”.

The rollout comes two days after Qantas stock was reduced to ‘junk’ status by credit agency Standard and Poor.
