EVER dreamed of ditching the suit and workwear for a pair of boardies or bikini?

Well now you can.

National Boardies day will be held on December 3 and to celebrate the Boat Harbour Surf Life Saving Club is hosting fundraisers across the North-West Coast.

By making a donation to the club your workplace can dress down for the day in your favorite beach attire.

Boat Harbour Surf Life Saving Club treasurer Melissa Singleton said the day would be a fun way to raise money for a worthy cause.

“The event is open to people of all ages and is a fun way to become a `lifesaver’ in your workplace, school or social club,” Mrs Singleton said.

“It’s a great way to get some nice legs out there.”

All donations from the day will go directly to the club to help buy rescue equipment.

Mrs Singleton said the day would raise awareness about the service surf lifesavers provide.

“Hopefully it makes people aware that we are a volunteer organisation that funds its own equipment through fundraisers and donations,” she said.

“A lot of people don’t realise that the equipment could help a family member, a friend or themselves.

“All the rescue crews at Boat Harbour are volunteers.”
