The strength of global economies and their resulting employment levels is a major influence on the workwear market. A new report from just-style forecasts worldwide demand to grow by more than 20% over the next five years, driven by growth in emerging markets.

The ‘Global market review of workwear – forecasts to 2018‘ found that the market slowed to a compound annual growth rate of 2.19% between 2006-2012. Before this, the global market had expanded by 4% per annum, but this dropped significantly during the global economic crisis of 2008-2009.

Higher unemployment rates across many countries led to a decline in demand for workwear in all major markets.
